Visit counter and cookie

Each page view is counted in this site's own database: the page, the day, whether it came from a phone, and which website linked to it. That's how I know which pages people use.

If you choose OK on the notice, the site sets one cookie called kv with a random ID, so returning visitors aren't counted twice. It doesn't contain your name or email and isn't shared with anyone. If you choose No thanks, there's no cookie. Browsers that send a "do not track" or Global Privacy Control signal never get the cookie.

If you make an account

• Email address, to sign you in. If you tick the box, also to send the occasional update. You can turn that off on the Join page anytime.
• Display name, shown next to things you post and on game leaderboards. Your email is never shown to other people.
• What you post: forum posts, Study notes, flashcards, teacher ratings and game scores. Teacher ratings show as "Anonymous student" to other students.
• Password, only if you set one. It's stored scrambled, so not even I can read it.

Where it's kept

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Accounts and posts are stored with Supabase, and sign-in emails are sent through Resend. They store the data for this site and don't use it for ads.

You can also install the site as an app from your browser's menu; game progress, streaks and tool settings are stored on your device only and never leave it.

Getting something removed

You can delete your own posts anytime. To delete your whole account or anything else, ask me and I'll remove it. You can reach me through the contact page or in person.
